  1. How to Recycle Your Old Hard DriveA Guideline Backup Files If you want to get rid of your old hard disk, first make a backup of all the data that is present on it. Also, destroy the hard disk in a safe manner. Here’s how you can do it. Remove Platters If you think the platter sounds like a pretty simple and straightforward part of your computer, you're right. The platters are the most important part of your hard drive because they contain the data on your computer. Disassemble The Hard Drive Clean Platters The hard drive is arguably the most vulnerable component of any computer. If you’ve ever dropped your laptop, or experienced a power surge, you know how scary it can be to think about the data on your hard drive. Contract after contract came, and more clients began seeing the company’s innovative and timeless approach to design. Soon enough, the team grew (from a team of five to a team of twelve!) and more improvements to the operations were made. Clean Drive Case The hard drive is arguably the most vulnerable component of any computer. Free Hard Drive Recycling There are two ways to recycle old hard drives. The teardrop method If your old hard drive is in a plastic bag, place it in the corner of your kitchen. Then, take the bag and cut a small hole in the side. This hole should be about 1/2 inch. When you place your hard drive in the hole, do not use any tape. Get a nifty rubberband for the corners of your hard drive and twist them so that the entire side of the hard drive is exposed. (If your kitchen counter is large, this may not be possible.) Then, tape the rubberband to the old hard drive. Wrap up the hard drive with a piece of paper and place the hard drive into a plastic bag. Then, move the bag to your dishwasher. The liquid method Instead of wrapping your old hard drive in a towel or plastic bag, use water based fluids for quicker, easier recycling. Run the hard drive under boiling water for less than 10 seconds. Ideally, you will have less than 10 seconds as hard drives achieve critical spinning and data integrity during this process. Then, use a scientist’s eye to verify that your hard drive is free from ink and not stuck. When your hard drive is free of ink, take it to your local recycling center.
