  2. Welcome • Please take out your signed syllabus and your writing notebook and put them on your desk In your writing notebook please answer the following. You will be expected to write until informed otherwise. What are your plans for next year? Are you going to attend a 4 year university, a 2 year college, a technical school, get a job, start your own business, bum around Europe, or….? It is okay to say I don’t know, but you must brainstorm on something that could be a possibility. Of course it’s okay to choose more than one idea.

  3. Today’s Targets • To get signed up for turnitin.com • To establish your current level and skills in writing • To update Mrs. deVidal on your senior project HW: Read “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” and create a list of at least 5 plot points

  4. Today’s activities • Writing Diagnostic • Finish Senior Project Task

  5. Senior Project Task: SUMMER STARTERS • Write a detailed (1/2 page, typed) summary of your project work so far • OR Create a detailed (typed) “To Do Next” list of what you must accomplish to get/stay on track. FALL STARTERS • Write a one-paragraph description of 3 project ideas • For each idea, add a 2- sentence explanation of why this project is a leading candidate

  6. “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” Read the excerpt from An American Childhood • create at least 3 points of comparison between you and Dillard’s experience with reading Due Tuesday 9/13
