Goods reception • Small parcels aredelivered to the student helpers’ office (1590-218) • Student helpers sign and send out e-mail upon reception • LARGE packages and palletscannotbedelivered to 1590-218 or left at the entrance (fire-escape route + non-esthetic) • Same for largeramounts of chemicals • Preferred option: Set delivery to a specificroom ”(159X-YYY) (contact person, mobile phone)” • Plan B: Set delivery to ”Building 1591, goods reception (contact person, mobile phone)” • Student helpers willassist in bringing the packages/palletsintoroom 1591-024 ifyoucannotbereached

Ethanol and drug percursors • The house has a permit to buyundenaturedethanolwihtouttaxes (about 150 kr/liter!) • Buy yourownethanol (96%, 99.5%) • Send a copy of the invoice to Bente Olsen (beo@chem.au.dk) • In IndFak: Beforeapproving the invoice, print a pdf of the invoice • The taxauthoritiescanmakecontrol visits • If we do not have the papers in order, wewillbecharged the 150 kr/liter in taxes • The house has a permit to buy drug precursors (i.e. acetone and manyothers)

  7. Wash of lab coats • Purchase of lab coats done by eachgroup • Pick-up and deliveryonce per week (Thursday) • Each coat must be labelled with ”iNANO”, group initials, and person initials • When dropping off items without an updated label, put them in a clear plastic bag labelled with the desiredtext (put the label into the bag) • The washingcompanywillthen label the items beforewashing • Drop-off and pick-up in washingroom in 1592-111 • Clean items willbesorted and placed in the cupboards • Washingexpensesarecovered by iNANO • Contact person: Bente Olsen (beo@chem.au.dk)

GlasswareWashingmachine • We have establishedan Outlook booking calendar. • Whenyou book, pleaseobserve the length of yourwashingprogram • Most washingtaskscanbeperformedwith the standard 1 hourprogram • Washing-up liquid and neutralizingliquidis on the house • Wehave two”drive-in” trolleys for the washingmachineso thatyoucanfillone with dirtyglasswarewhile the other is washing. • General rules for glasswareapply: no labels, noautoclave tape, caps removed frromblue-capbottles • The washingroom has beenequipped with sinks for rinsingawaymost dirt from yourglasswarebefore final cleaning. • Glasswarecontaminated with organic/foul-smellingwaste must becleaned in the fumehoodequipped with 3 sinks. • Weare still waiting for installation and a short usercourse, but the washingmachineshouldready for usebeginning of April. • Contact person: Ove Kristian Lillelund (okl@mb.au.dk)

Media and wasteautoclaves • Responsible person: Claus Bus (cb@mb.au.dk) • Autoclave for sterilisation of media, buffers, glassware etc. is situated in room 1592-024. • One run willtake 2 hours. • For instructions – ask Claus Bus • Booking of the autoclaveshould not beneeded. • Waste-autoclave is situated in room 1592-018. • One run willtake 3 hours. • Therewillbeonly 3-4 users of the wasteautoclave(Claus Bus, Ove Lillelund and a user from each of the otherbiologicalwaste-producinggroups) • For instructions – ask Claus Bus

Chemical waste • It is important to handle chemical waste carefully, and to help maintain the safety of those who transport and handle your waste! • Only use approved waste containers (5 liters UN 3H1/X) found in 1590-051 • In case less than 10 containers are left, please contact Jeppe Kristensen (jk@chem.au.dk). • Full containers should be transported to the waste room immediately • Each of the large barrels in 1591-051 should be used for only one type of waste • Point of contact: Morten Foss (foss@inano.au.dk)
