  1. DEER The animal I researched was a deer. Deer are mammals. They live in the woodlands of New York state.

  2. PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES Deer have cool features. Deer have brown fur. They also have white fur. All deer have hooves. Every single deer has four long legs. The male deer fight with there antlers to protect them selves! Deer can weigh up to 100 - 225 pounds!

  3. HABITAT AND SHELTER Deer are safe anywhere in a woods. Other deer prefer beds out of plants.

  4. DIET AND PREDATORS Deer like to eat many things. Some deer eat plants and flowers. Others eat grass, leaves, bark and small branches. Deer like to eat food but, there are some predators that like to eat deer! Cougars and wolves like to feast on deer. Lynx like to eat deer. Chickens are also predators to deer.

  5. INTERESTING FACTS These are some interesting facts about deer. Baby deer are called fawns. Mother deer give birth to 1 or 2 fawns. Deer can live ten years in the wild. Fawns can walk a few hours after being born. Some deer live in groups.

  6. CONCLUSION In conclusion, deer are amazing animals. Since they live in New York state, it wouldn’t be surprising if you ever saw one. So keep an eye out, but also keep your distance. Wild animals like deer, should only be looked at, not touched.
