  2. - Seven Counties, 31 total members (January 2005) - Diverse Membership : Counties, Cities, Rockford Airport, Fire Districts, IPSAN & Rock Valley College - Unified Mission and Priorities Voice, Data,Video, in that order. • The Prairie SHIELD Regional Alliance is born • Governance - Most Important Accomplishment (January 2006) - “Leader” Position (non-voting member) - “Caucus” System of Voting : Each member is part of their county “caucus”. Each caucus has one (1) vote. - All members have a voice, encourages cooperation within respective counties. Promotes equality between Police, Sheriff, Fire and EMA Departments.

  3. - Consultants : Roaming Intelligence - Local Fundraising (approx. $60,000) - Focus Groups - Federal Congressional “Earmark” $170,000 - Public Safety Interoperable Communications Grant Award : $5.1 Million ! PSRA ranked #1 grant out of 33 other applicants. • Other Accomplishments • The Future - SAFECOM Interoperability Continuum - Integration of Governance, National Incident Management System, similar voice technology, regional exercises, & all agencies on the “same page”. - Complete voice solutions in region, data solutions and select video applications. - Will seek additional grants! • Questions
