4. Admission Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent • At least 18 years of age • Minors who are still in high school • Consent of high school administration • Parent consent • High school grades do not determine eligibility • SAT and ACT tests are not required

Costs • CA residents: courses are $46/unit or approximately $1104/year for CA residents ($31/unit for schools on the quarter system—De Anza, Foothill and Lake Tahoe colleges.) • Tuition Fee Waiver: California Community College Board of Governors Waiver (BOGW) • Non CA residents/Undocumented students: will pay an additional fee per unit which varies by campus but typically a minimum of $200/unit more (Find out more about the Nonresident Tuition Exemption form) • Textbooks: estimated cost of $1,656/year

Transferring Benefits • Admission Priority • All CCCs offer many general education requirements and lower-division major courses to prepare you transferring • Upper division transfer students from the CCC have the highest admissions priority of all students applying to the UC and CSU. • Many CCCs have transfer agreements to help you make a smooth transition. • Cost Savings • Tuition for your first 60 units at a CCC is cheaper than tuition for your fist 60 units a 4-year university.

8. Associates Degrees • Generally 60 units including general education and major courses • Community colleges also offer associate degrees in selected majors where, when completed, guarantee you admission into the CSU system at the junior level
