Under development:Caspian Ground Water (PDF-A) Title: Integration of Groundwater Issues into the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis and Strategic Action Programme for the Caspian Sea Countries: TURKMENISTAN, AZERBAIJAN, IRAN, KAZAKHSTAN, RUSSIA Time frame: 2005 – 2006 Funding: USD 0.09m (GEF: 0.05m) Partners: UNDP/BRC (IA), UNESCO (EA) Objectives: Update SAP; Develp Pilot Mitigation & GW Management Strategies; Identify Cap Build Needs; Develop MSP proposal. Funding: USD 1.35m (GEF: 1.0m) Partners: UNDP/BRC (IA), UNOPS (EA), UNDP/Env-Sec Objectives: TDA; SAP; Improved expert dialogue; Eco-system Quality Objectives (EQO) & application mechanisms at community level; framework for sustainable development of land and water resources in the basin.
