  2. The Lockout • After Super Bowl XLV, the 10 year Collective Bargaining agreement expired causing NFL owners and players to meet and create a new one.

  3. The Lockout cont. • After several months, the NFL lockout dragged on with neither side giving any ground to the other.

  4. Tom Brady (for all of those people out there that live under a rock….) • Tom Brady was a 6th round pick of the New England Patriots in the 2000 NFL draft. • Tom Brady also led the Patriots to 4 Super Bowls and winning 3. • He also was NFL MVP 2007 and 2010.

  5. The Dilemma • During the Lockout, players were sort of negotiating contracts about retiree benefits. • This was a big no-no for the NFL player’s union seeing as it was fighting against the Owners

  6. On a side note…. • Tom Brady had a record performance on Monday Night Football. • He threw for 517 yards and 4 touchdowns against their AFC East rival the Miami Dolphins. • Only 4 other players have ever accomplished this feat!
