  2. The Italian case study A regional federation of 19 Regions, 2 Autonomous Provinces and the Italian National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA)

  3. Hiscentral and Hydroservers in the Italian architecture Hiscentral in Rome Hydroserver Hydroserver …..

  4. Our developments… • Database porting from SQLserver to MySQL • Migration from Windows to Linux • Activation of WFS to register into GEO-DAB broker • Implementation of a prototypal architecture in ARPA local network: it will be installed as a production system at the premises of ISPRA in Rome and all available regional water data will be online.

  5. Discussion issues • WaterML2 encoding should be native and not XLST • Hydromap could be based upon OpenGeo and GeoServer • WFS service could be replaced by other services like OpenSeach • The developed tools could be made available through HOMS (Hydrological Operational Multipurpose System) established by the WMO • The proposed architecture should support the activities in the program of CHy-14 - Theme Area 2 - Data Operations and Management
