  1. Certification Standards V.2 Peter Woolner Noblis May 20, 2009

  2. CS V.2 Status • NOAA has prepared a cover letter and will post CS V.2 on FedBizOps • Certification Test Sets in development • Several proposals raised to change CS V.2 • Most are positive but are not critical • I suggest it is not worth it to "rock the boat" • Microcom has provided the filter coefficients to go in Appendix C of CS V.2 • Apply to Wallops receivers and the Test Sets

  3. Filter Data • 427 Tap Root Raised Cosine FIR, Fs= 53.3333/Symbol • Equation: A = Σin ci∙si Coefficients will be listed from -213 to +213

  4. Impulse Response

  5. When CS V.2 DCPs are Available • Any existing V.1B 100 bps or 300 bps DCP could become a V.2 300 bps DCP on the same channel it currently uses if NOAA agrees • Uses the new channel bandwidth (1/2 existing) • Less interference to and from neighbors • Opens two halves of new channels for expansion • Small performance reduction unless neighbors do not meet V.1B requirements if power unchanged • Some V.1B 300 bps DCPs may be suitable
