Challenge: • Positioned as a world leader in technology Siemens needed to replace existing search technology for internal and external sites • Requirements of the solution were: high availability, to crawl approx 1600 Siemens site and integrate security framework. X Solution: • Replaced and enhanced internal and external search applications in a 2 phased approach • Phase I includes developing index profile, pipeline and crawler configurations, testing backup and failover strategy. • Phase 2 includes tuning and quality improvements, rank boosting, enhanced search substituting “guided search” with boosted queries and enhanced drilldowns. • Integrates SAM (GetAccess, Active Directories) and integrates SharePoint, SAP, LiveLink and PiroBase Results with FAST: • Site Search
