  2. Intentions • Purpose: provide student body with cheap and easily accessible goods • Time period: Spring Semester 2009 – Unknown • Other Organizations Involved: EAO, Ruta Ozols, Louise Gava, Timberly Hewitt, Reiff Maintenance Staff. • Target Audience: student population, faculty and staff

  3. ReUse History • In the Spring of 2005 Anna Larson started a ReUse sale • Students donate to ReUse in the spring • In the fall students can purchase reused items • In the summer of ’08 the ReUse location change from the trailers to the basement of Reiff

  4. Supporting SLU’s Green Initiative • "...Designed to eliminate the excessive amount of reusable items St. Lawrence currently places in landfills at the end of each academic year. It is designed to contribute to both the St. Lawrence campus and Canton Community. Our hope is to form a collaborative effort to place reusable items where there is need in the local community." (SLU Green Pages) • The shelves in the current location were made from Recycled doors from Whitman. The walls were painted with recycled paint.

  5. Funds • Total Expenses: ~ $6,550 • Total Sum Requested from Thelmo: $280.80 • Advertising ($20) • One Semester Salary ($260.80)

  6. Break Down: • Renovations/expansion 5,600 $ • One Semester Salary 260.80$ (2hrs/week @ $8.15 ---16 weeks) • Change Box 30$ • New locks 40$ (maintenance staff) • Maintenance supplies 35$ (detergent, soap) • Advertising 20$ (posters) • Cost of sign 50$

  7. Other Sources of Funding • Building Manager/Facilities = 5,650$ (expansion + lock) • Ruta Contributed = 50$ (sign) • EAO Contributed = 65$ (supplies + change box) • Last years sales= 350$ (expansion)

  8. Points of Interest • Why we need to expand: no room for furniture in the Spring • Plan to open: Saturdays 12-2 pm • How to donate: boxes will be placed in the basement of Reiff for small items. Larger items need to be brought in during operational hours • Who can donate: Faculty, staff, and students • Employees: Max Olsen, Lindsay Guerin, Cam Lownie • Last Years Sale 700$
