  6. What changed Ray’s Thinking? -Summer 1994: Ray reads "The Ecology of Commerce" by Paul Hawken - Hawken accuses business and industry as the leader in the plundering of Earth - Says businesses are the only institution powerful enough to change the trend of a globally declining biosphere

  8. Action Taken • Use Carbohydrate Polymers • Instead of Petroleum ones • For backing, use recycled old-carpet sludge • filled in pellets • Install renewable energy plants at all sites • Solar and wind-mill based energy

  9. Sustainability Resulted in (by 2007)... • Greenhouse-gas emissions by absolute tonnage were down 92% since 1995 • water usage down 75% • 74,000 tones used carpet had been recovered from landfills.
