  4. POST GRADUATE TRAINING • 88 Specialist training post in the 4 Dental Schools • 77 filled posts Nationally • 11 vacant posts ALL at UWC • Posts are unfunded by Provincial Government of the Western Cape • Thus we have a 31 % Vacancy Rate due to non funding

  11. Conclusion • Specialist training at UWC is grossly underfunded – 31 % unfilled posts • 11 Vacant posts of 36 available • UWC produces the largest number of • Specialists • Undergraduate students • Funding gap exists between UWC and the other dental schools
