JEWS? WHAT DID THE LORD COMMAND ISRAEL? READ: EXODUS 23:32-33 32 You shall make no covenant with them Nor with their gods. 33 They shall not dwell in your land Lest they make you sin against Me. For If you serve their gods, It will surely be a snare to you. NKJV HOW DID ISRAEL RESPOND TO MOSES? READ: EXODUS 24:7-8 7 Moses took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. They said: “All that the LORD has said we will do and be obedient.” 8 Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and said, “This is the blood of the covenant which the LORD has made with you according to all these words.“

He took Joshua and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation. 23 He laid his hands on him and inaugurated him, Just as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.

READ: DEUTERONOMY 21:19-21 19 Then His father and his mother shall take hold of him and Bring him out to the elders of his city, to the gate of his city. 20 They shall say to the elders of his city, This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey our voice. He is a glutton and a drunkard. 21 All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones. So You shall put away the evil from among you. And All Israel shall hear and fear. NKJV

READ: GENESIS 43:15 15 They took the present and Benjamin. They took double money in their hand, arose and went down to Egypt. And They stood before Joseph. NKJV

READ: NUMBERS 11:5-6 5 We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic. 6 But now Our whole being is dried up. There is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes! NKJV

READ: NUMBERS 20:14-17 14 Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom. Thus says your brother Israel: You know all the hardship that has befallen us, 15 How our fathers went down to Egypt and We dwelt in Egypt a long time. And the Egyptians afflicted us and our fathers. 16 When We cried out to the LORD, He heard our voice and sent the Angel and brought us up out of Egypt. Now Here we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your border. 17 Please let us pass through your country. We will not pass through fields or vineyards nor Will we drink water from wells. We will go along the King's Highway. We will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left Until we have passed through your territory.

He has done for you these great and awesome things which your eyes have seen. 22 Your fathers went down to Egypt with seventy persons. And now The LORD your God has made you as the stars of heaven in multitude. NKJV

The LORD is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day Nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve you from all evil. He shall preserve your soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming inFrom this time forth and even forevermore.

They were afraid of the Chaldeans. READ: JEREMIAH 2:18-19 18 “Why take the road to Egypt, To drink the waters of Sihor? Or why take the road to Assyria, To drink the waters of the River? “ 19 “Your own wickedness will correct you And Your backslidings will rebuke you. Know and see that it is an evil and bitter thing That you have forsaken the LORD your God And the fear of Me is not in you,” Says the Lord GOD of hosts. NKJV

READ: JEREMIAH 42:13-17 13 If You say, “We will not dwell in this land, Disobeying the voice of the LORD your God,” 14 Saying, ‘No, We will go to the land of Egypt Where We shall see no war Nor Hear the sound of the trumpet, Nor be hungry for bread and There we will dwell’ 15 ”Then Hear the word of the LORD, O remnant of Judah! Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘If You wholly set your faces to enter Egypt and Go to dwell there,’” 16 “Then it shall be that the sword which you feared shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt. The famine of which you were afraid shall follow close after you there in Egypt and there you shall die.” 17 “So shall it be with all the men who set their faces to go to Egypt to dwell there. They shall die by the sword, by famine and by pestilence. None of them shall remain or escapefrom the disaster that I will bring upon them.” NKJV

READ: JEREMIAH 46:25-26 25 The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Says: “Behold, I will bring punishment on Amon of No and Pharaoh and Egypt, with their gods and their kings: Pharaoh and those who trust in him.” 26 “I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and the hand of his servants. Afterward It shall be inhabited as in the days of old,” Says the LORD. NKJV

READ: EZEKIEL 17:11-14 11 The word of the LORD came to me, Saying, 12 “Say to the rebellious house: Do you not know what these things mean? Tell them, Indeed the king of Babylon went to Jerusalem and took its king and princes and led them with him to Babylon.” 13 “He took the king's offspring, made a covenant with him and put him under oath. He also took away the mighty of the land,” 14 “That the kingdom might be brought low and not lift itself up But that By keeping his covenant it might stand.”

READ: EZEKIEL 17:15-18 15 But He rebelled against him by sending his ambassadors to Egypt That They might give him horses and many people. Will he prosper? Will he who does such things escape? Can he break a covenant and still be delivered? 16 “As I live,” Says the Lord GOD, “Surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king,whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke with him, in the midst of Babylon he shall die.” 17 “Nor Will Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company do anything in the war When They heap up a siege mound and build a wall to cut off many persons.” 18 “Since He despised the oath by breaking the covenant and in fact gave his hand and still did all these things, He shall not escape.” NKJV

READ: EZEKIEL 29:13-16 13 Thus says the Lord GOD: “At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they were scattered. 14 “I will bring back the captives of Egypt and cause them to return to the land of Pathros, to the land of their origin and There they shall be a lowly kingdom. 15 “It shall be the lowliest of kingdoms. It shall never again exalt itself above the nations. For I will diminish them so that they will not rule over the nations anymore. 16 “No longer shall it be the confidence of the house of Israel But It will remind them of their iniquity When they turned to follow them. Then They shall know that I am the Lord GOD.” NKJV

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THEY TRUST IN PHARAOH? WHERE WERE PHAROAH’S PRINCES? ZOAN? WHERE WERE PHAROAH’S AMBASSADORS? HANES? WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT ZOAN & HANES?

QUESTIONS: ISAIAH 30:3-5 JEWS FUTILE CONFIDENCE IN EGYPT 3 Therefore the strength of PharaohShall be your shame, And trust in the shadow of EgyptShall be your humiliation. 4 For his princes were at Zoan, And his ambassadors came to Hanes. WHERE WERE PHAROAH’S PRINCES? ZOAN? WHERE WERE PHAROAH’S AMBASSADORS? HANES? WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT ZOAN? READ: NUMBERS 13:21-23 21 They went up and spied out the land from the Wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob, near the entrance of Hamath. 22 They went up through the South and came to Hebron. Ahiman, Sheshai, andTalmai, the descendants of Anak, were there. (Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) 23 They came to the Valley of Eshcol. And There cut down a branch with one cluster of grapes. They carried it between two of them on a pole. They also brought some of the pomegranates and figs. NKJV

WHERE WERE PHAROAH’S PRINCES? ZOAN? WHERE WERE PHAROAH’S AMBASSADORS? HANES? WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT ZOAN? READ: PSALMS 78:12-13 12 Marvelous things He did in the sight of their fathers, In the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan. 13 He divided the sea and caused them to pass through. He made the waters stand up like a heap. NKJV READ: PSALMS 78:42-43 42 They did not remember His power. The day when He redeemed them from the enemy, 43 When He worked His signs in Egypt And His wonders in the field of Zoan. NKJV

WHERE WERE PHAROAH’S PRINCES? ZOAN? WHERE WERE PHAROAH’S AMBASSADORS? HANES? WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT ZOAN? READ: ISAIAH 19:11 - 13 11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools. Pharaoh's wise counselors give foolish counsel. How do you say to Pharaoh, ‘I am the son of the wise, The son of ancient kings?’ NKJV 13 The princes of Zoan have become fools. The princes of Noph are deceived. They have also deluded Egypt, Those who are the mainstay of its tribes. NKJV READ: EZEKIEL 30:14 14 I will make Pathros desolate. READ: 1 KINGS 11:19-20 19 Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, So that He gave him as wife the sister of his own wife, That is, The sister of Queen Tahpenes. 20 The sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house. And Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh. NKJV

READ: JEREMIAH 43:7-11 7 They went to the land of Egypt For They did not obey the voice of the LORD. And They went as far as Tahpanhes. 8 The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, Saying, 9 “Take large stones in your hand and hide them in the sight of the men of Judah, in the clay in the brick courtyard which is at the entrance to Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes;” 10 “Say to them, Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Behold, I will bring Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant. And I will set his throne above these stones that I have hidden. And He will spread his royal pavilion over them.’ 11 “When he comes, he shall strike the land of Egypt and deliver to death those appointed for death and to captivity those appointed for captivity and to the sword those appointed for the sword.” NKJV

READ: JEREMIAH 44:1-3 1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who dwell in the land of Egypt, who dwell at Migdol, at Tahpanhes, at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, Saying, 2 “Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: You have seen all the calamity that I have brought on Jerusalem and on all the cities of Judah. Behold, this day they are a desolation and No one dwells in them, 3 ‘Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke Me to anger, in that They went to burn incense and to serve other gods whom they did not know, They nor You nor Your fathers.” NKJV

WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT HANES? HANES IS TAHPANHES? NAMED AFTER QUEEN TAHPENES? WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN TAHPANHES? READ: JEREMIAH 46:14 14 Declare in Egypt and proclaim in Migdol. Proclaim in Noph and in Tahpanhes. Say, Stand fast and prepare yourselves, For the sword devours all around you.
