  2. Philippians 2:12-18 • 12 Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. • 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

  3. Philippians 2:12-18 • 14 Do everything without complaining and arguing, • 15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.

Philippians 2:12-18 • 16 Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless. • 17 But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God, just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy. • 18 Yes, you should rejoice, and I will share your joy.

  7. Point 2 Work hard to show the results of your salvation. If there are no evident results, I doubt your salvation.

  8. Point 3 Be obedient to God – even when you don’t really want to.

  9. Point 3 Obedience to God shows that God is working in you. He is giving you the strength and desire to do His will.

  10. Point 4 Do everything without complaining and arguing.

  11. Point 5 Hold firmly to the word of life.

  12. Point 6 Be faithful to God.

  13. Point 7 Live clean and innocent lives. Shining like bright lights.

  14. Point 7 If you are blending in, you are not shining.

  15. Point 7 When we let our light shine and shine brightly we are living our life as an offering to God. There is joy in that!

  16. CONCLUSION • Are you blending in with society? • Do you grumble or complain daily? • Do your forget to read your Bible. Is it a priority? • Is obedience to God a priority in your life?
