How Can I Help/Motivate My Child? • Set up a routine and stick to it! Elementary students need structure and consistency. Set a specific homework time and spot. • Allow students to take ownership of their work. Allow them to do their work independently – provide assistance when needed. Praise them for a job well done. • Help them set realistic goals and create action plans – help them follow through. • Take an interest in what they are learning in school – extend that learning to family time.
Let’s Work Together • Please continue to encourage your student to always do their best work. • Please continue to encourage your student to pay close attention and to listen carefully. • Check with your student about supply levels – they may need to replenish their paper/pencil supply. • Remember – Blue folders come home each Tuesday. Three progress reports are sent out a quarter via email. Please sign the Parent Communication Log when you receive the email – do not sign if you don’t get a report – please let me know if you do not receive a report.
Union Cross Science Fair10-11 • The Science Fair will be held in January. • We will conduct a class project to enter in the Science Fair • –Projects are open to individual students and are OPTIONAL. • Students who chose to do a project will be allowed to present to the class.
