Holocaust Poetry Jigsaw • Get into groups of 5 • Each member of the group will receive one poem from a Holocaust survivor or a child of a Holocaust survivor • Read your chosen poem carefully and make annotations, keeping in mind that you will present the poem to your group members • Each group member takes a turn reading their poem and talking about it.

  2. Annotations • Number each stanza • Text to self, text to world • Figurative language • Imagery (what does this represent?) • Tone (what words are conveying this feeling?) • Underline words/phrases that “speak” to you or that you think are important • Does the poet use repetition, alliteration, rhyme etc.? And why?
