  14. Happy hour Next Tuesday, May 4, starting at 5pm we will have the BioChegs 2nd happy hour. We'll gather together at Duclaw Brewing Co at Arundel Mills mall. The BioChegs will sponsor for appetizers/snacks and non-alcoholic beverages and we will also offer 1 round of beer to the graduate students. Pictures? 

  15. Biochegs Charity Christmas food drive Christmas is a season of giving. Please, donate non-perishable food item for our Christmas Food Drive. The food will be given to the homeless in Baltimore through a local church. “Most needed” foods list: Rice and beans; canned vegetables; canned meats; canned fruit; pasta; macaroni and cheese; peanut butter. To donate: Stop by the grad office 332A to drop your donation. Choose an item from the “Most needed” list or grab a paper with a suggestion from our “Christmas Food Drive” cup also in the office. Final collection on 12/12/08. Thanks from the BioCheGS!!!

Positions 09/10 • President – leader and organizer of the BioChegs officers; faculty representative • Vice president – president’s right hand; secretary and historian • Treasurer – budget, collects money and buys graduation presents • Social Chair – main organizer of events, reimbursement from GSA • GSA representatives (2) – represent BioCheGS at (Graduate Student Association) GSA meetings, give updates

Nominations 2010/2011 • Nominate two people per each position (4 total for GSA representatives) • Hand the nomination form to Andreia now or • Leave the nomination form in Andreia’s mailbox by Sep 29th • Students from 2007 to 2010 • BS/MS students can only be nominated for Vice-President and Treasurer • Grad thermo (Fall) and Statistics (Spring) – Monday evenings – incompatible with GSA Representative http://www.umbc.edu/cbe/biochegs/grads.php
