  5. IRRI Data – How is it used by the form? • PREPSRC • country and state (ADM_1) • PREPHAB • country, state (Adm1), latitude, longitude, uncertainty, locality • PREPAACT • narrative of old vs new fields plus all of the IRRI fields separated by “##” • event • “PASS_FIX” or “PASS_OK” (src) • “LATLON_ADD”, “LATLON_FIX”, or “LATLON_OK” (hab)

  6. If Prep tables are not in the database, buttons for linking or importing will be visible • Can’t use other forms until PREPSRC, PREPHAB, and PREPAACT are present • If prep tables are present, buttons for exporting them will be enabled

  7. Prep tables can be linked directly to GRIN via ODBC • The form will show updates • Don’t need to upload anything into GRIN • Performance may be slower • Requires iclient

  8. Download Instant Client on GRIN tools menu and follow the instructions for ODBC connectivity

  9. Need to Select Unique Record Identifiers when linking to GRIN

  10. Prep tables can be imported from GRIN via ODBC • Performance may be faster • The form will not show updates • Requires iclient • Need to upload table into GRIN

  12. The button to open the Main form will be visible if prepsrc, prephab, prepaact are present

  31. Summary • Select site, genus, taxon to narrow down records or search by accession ID • Use buttons to add information to prep tables • Modify with elevations, check locality fields • Export prep tables as dbf tables and upload into GRIN • (skip this step if preptables are linked via ODBC)

  32. Summary continued • Load prep tables in GRIN • Optional for unlinked preptables • Export loaded tables from GRIN and replace the local prep tables with the GRIN tables to have a record of what has already been added. • Update Source member records in GRIN if there is enough COOP information to be useful
