  3. Photovoice In your life, what supports you feeling safe and healthy? Crosswalks should be clearly marked to provide a safe crossing. Peaceful Relaxing - Anclote Key looks like the Caribbean.

  4. Photovoice In your life, what are barriers to feeling safe and healthy? I picked this photo because employees of many grocery stores locally smoke near the doors of the establishments. The ash tray cans are seen here. I chose not to take a picture of any employees. Many people are allergic to smoke or have chronic conditions that make breathing difficult. I enjoy fresh air. Homeowners need to take responsibility for keeping their portion of the sidewalk clear of debris and plant growth.

  29. Access to Care

  30. Income Minimal litter in neighborhood Neighborhood unsafe - day Neighborhood unsafe – night Has access to mental health services Has insurance • Compared to higher income residents of Pinellas County, lower income residents: • live in neighborhoods with more litter • feel less safe walking in their neighborhoods due to crime • are less likely to have health insurance coverage • are less likely to have access to mental health services • believe formula is the best choice for feeding infants • report worse oral health Believes formula best for infants Has good oral health Prepared by Professional Data Analysts | July 2018 Page 30

  31. Age Has a personal doctor or health care provider Has witnessed domestic violence • Younger residents are less likely to have a personal health care provider • Age is associated with witnessing domestic violence, neighborhood safety at night, and cost being a barrier to accessing mental health services. However, those associations do not show an increasing or decreasing trend from young to old. Cost is a barrier to accessing mental health services Neighborhood unsafe to walk at night

  32. Race Most often drinks tap (versus bottled) water Compared to non-Hispanic White residents of Pinellas County, non-Hispanic blacks are more likely to drink bottled water than tap water. Geography Neighborhood free from litter Most shopping done at local stores • Among the four areas in the comparison, St. Petersburg-South had the lowest rates of: • shopping at local stores • living in a neighborhood that is free of litter Results from CHNA 2017 Survey. All chi-square associations reported here were significant at p<=.002 (Bonferroni adjusted). Geography was determined by zip code. Some categories were collapsed (e.g. 18-24 with 25-34) in order to increase N for comparisons. The sample size for some of the subgroups – and especially for Black Non-Hispanic – were small, making the analysis underpowered.
