  3. Parts of a Dog All dogs have 321 bones and 42 teeth. A dog’s eyesight is sometimes better than a human’s eyesight. Their sense of hearing is much better than humans. Some scientist think that a dog’s sense of smell is 1,000 times better than a person’s sense of smell.

  4. Different Kinds of Dogs Dogs can be different sizes. Some dogs can be large and some are small dogs. The largest dog is the Irish Wolfhound. The smallest dog is the Chihuahua. There are dogs that weigh more than a grown person. Some dogs weigh less than a rabbit does. Dogs can have straight hair or some kinds have curly hair. Dog’s ears can be pointed or some just hang down.

  5. Puppies Baby dogs are called puppies. When a mommy dog has puppies, it is called a litter. Small dogs usually have fewer puppies per litter than larger dogs. The mommy dog gives her babies milk, and bathes it by licking it clean. www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strollerderby/2009/02...

  6. Caring for a Dog Dogs have been pets for over 14,000 years. If you have a dog for a pet, you have to bathe them, feed them, and give them something to drink. You need to take them on walks for exercise. If a dog gets sick, you may need to take it to a vet right away so it can get medicine. If your dog gets a broken leg, you will have to take it to the vet to get it fixed.

  7. Rescue Dogs Many smart dogs are trained to handle all different kinds of emergencies. Dogs can be very brave. There is a dog named Balto. He is the most famous rescue dog. Some rescue dogs are used by the police to catch bad people or find missing people. http://www.larimercountysar.org/images/SARDogPhotos/Bear.JPG
