  2. 2-year project (Jan 2011 – Jan 2013) funded by the European Commission’s IST-PSP programme • Creating the library aggregator for Europeana • Adding 5 million digital objects from research libraries to Europeana • 19 research and University libraries are participating • A project coordinated by Koninklijke Bibliotheek (The national library of The Netherlands )

  6. How much and what sort of content? • 3,319,045 pages • 598,130 books and theses • 368,000 articles • 848,078 images • 1,200 film and video clips • 34,000 mixed content objects

  7. University library “Svetozar Markovic” • The only partner from a non-EU country and the SE region of Europe • Involved in all important aspects of the project

  8. University library “Svetozar Markovic” • Adding two important collections (160.000 pages of old and rare books from the Ottoman collection and collection on Alexander the Great) • Creating a new metadata model – EDM (Europeana Data Model)

University library “Svetozar Markovic” • More visibility and accessibility to collections of university and research libraries from Western Balkan countries • Opportunity to gain valuable experiences and share them with other librarians from the region • Creating the aggregator for university and research libraries of Western Balkan countries
