  1. 1st Berkhamsted Scout GroupFriends of Scouting Charter Build community around Group Arrange social events for Group parents Establish pool of volunteers & helpers Get parents involved in the Group Lead fundraising for hut refurbishment Divide work into projects with realistic £ goals Lead fundraising, inc. sponsorship & grants Identify internal expertise to reduce costs Plan the 1st Berkhamsted Centenary With section leaders plan Group Centenary Cover all sections & parents where possible Reach out to Group Alumni get them involved Friends of Scouting (FOS) Terms of service • FOS requires an elected Chair, who will represent FOS on the Group Exec & will be a Trustee • All fundraising & social activities to be in keeping with Scout Association ethical standards • Additional member of Group Exec to be invited to fundraising meetings, on pre-arranged rota • Outside of these conditions FOS to determine own operating rules, officers and terms

  2. 1st Berkhamsted Scout GroupPlanned fundraising activities The following are some of the fundraising activities that have been discussed at the Exec, investigated and, in some cases, booked. FOS is under no obligation to continue with them – feedback through Group Exec please: • Bag packing in Waitrose, to involve Scouts (? and older cubs ?) plus parents booked for 20th, 22nd &/or 23rd December – contact Lyndsay Slater for details • Christmas tree collection and disposal being discussed with 1st Tring who have run this successfully for several years. Nothing booked as yet – contact Lyndsay Slater for details • Berkhamsted Collegiate School Michaelmas Fair and other school fêtes, Lions fête etc.. • Festival of Lights in Berkhamsted – bacon roll and beavers cake stand - long standing tradition • Lottery grants and some local grants have been investigated, some small grants are viable The Group has some equipment which the FOS are welcome to use – Scout hut, gas barbecue, tables & chairs, tentage, high quality all-weather group banners – contact Paul Chambers for a full run down of available equipment and to check availability – Sections must have top priority! The expectation is that fundraising activities will not always rely on the children or the section leaders & helpers who already give a lot of their time to the Group. Members of the Exec are fair game.
