  2. Congratulations! As of February 28th 2014 District 22 has increased its membership to 1082 members. The District 22 Boards goal for 2012 – 2014 was growth of 1%, with your help we have achieved this goal!

  3. Why do Members Matter? Together we can achieve….. • Local projects • Scholarships’ • Place in the community • Credible and visible • International Projects and Services • Scholarships i.e. YWPA, JMK, AE • Various fistula projects • Elimination of transmission of HIV from mother to child • Education/reduction of domestic violence ZISVAW • Edutainment for social change • Safe cities projects

  4. Membership makes all these local and International Projects happen! • Revisit/review existing club membership, who stays and why? Who leaves and why? Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses. • Attract new members, fill the gaps in knowledge and skills. Target. • Retain, rejuvenate. • Succession plan. Not only for your club, but also District 22 and Zonta International, our voice is worth hearing!

  5. Members are Volunteers • Goals and targets set by clubs must recognise that members have commitments to family and work before expecting a contribution to the Zonta programme. • Small clubs, those with less than 20 members are at risk. • Clubs at risk face resignations and a reluctance by remaining members to expand. Nurture and support your membership!

  6. How do we raise our credibility and visibility?Projects such as ZONTA says NO. • What else? • What effect do these examples have on membership?

No secrets and wanting to share rather than recreate the wheel. Economy of time!
