  20. Don’t forget to apply for financial aid, graduate merit scholarships and graduate assistantships. • For a 10- hour per week time commitment, • graduate assistantships pay for: • 6 graduate credits of course work and • a stipend of $1,275 per semester CLTA-GNY

For 2006-7, we have 4Graduate Teaching Internships at Pace High School. http://appserv.pace.edu/execute/page.cfm?doc_id=12824 Candidates for these competitive internship positions will be provided with a significant scholarship (50%-100%) toward the completion of a teaching degree at Pace University. Internships require a full-day, 5-day per week commitment, plus graduate classes several evenings per week and a Summer 2006 commitment. Candidates who fit this profile are teachers who already possess a New York State classroom teaching certificate and are interested in becoming certified in an additional classroom teaching subject. If you fit this profile, you may obtain an additional certificate by: • Possessing a valid New York State classroom teaching certificate • Satisfying the 30 semester hour content core requirements (some certificates require additional pedagogy as well) for the certificate title you seek • Applying for a Certificate to the NYSED Office of Teaching Initiatives • Passing the appropriate New York State the Content Specialty Test(s) (CST)

Candidates who fit this profile are teachers who already possess a New York State classroom teaching certificate and are interested in teaching another subject while completing requirements to become certified in the new classroom teaching subject. If you fit this profile, you may obtain a supplementary certificate by: • Possessing a valid New York State classroom teaching certificate • Satisfying the 12 semester hour content core requirements for the certificate title you seek • Obtaining a recommendation from the employing school district (very important – you must get this first before even considering applying for this certificate) • Passing the appropriate New York State the Content Specialty Test(s) (CST)
