  1. Title: What Is Beta Testing With Example? Summary: Today, every business wants to maximize the user experience (UX) by delivering quality products. Therefore, before the release of the software, businesses conduct a beta test where they release a nearly completed version of the software to end-users to gain their feedback on usability, reliability, performance, and quality of the product. Let us now try to understand this testing type in more detail with the help of an example. Body: What is beta testing? It is a black box type of software testing method wherein a nearly completed version (90%-95% complete) of the software is tested by the real users/end-users in the production environment. It is usually performed at the last stage of the software testing process. The main purpose of this test is to check the usability, security, reliability, and functionality of the software from the end-users perspective. The feedback and suggestions received from the users help in improving the quality of the product and in making the product more satisfactory for customers. The stakeholders of this test are the product management team, quality management team, and user experience team whereas the participants are real users or end-users of the product. Why is beta testing required? Below mentioned are some of the reasons why this test is required: ● This test is required to gain feedback from end-users before the launch of the product about its usability, functionality, reliability, etc. The feedback received from end-user helps QA teams to improve the product quality This test helps to make the product more satisfactory for end-users It helps to uncover bugs in the software which either got missed during previous test cycles or might occur after release This testing process improves customer and business relationship as customers feel valued and understands that their opinion matters ● ● ● ● What are the different types of beta tests? Below mentioned are the different types of beta test: ● Public beta test: In this testing type the software is delivered to people worldwide via online channels. Based on this feedback and data collected from users, the changes and modifications are made to the product if required Technical beta test: In this testing type the software product is released to the technical group/department of an organization to gather their feedback and suggestions for product improvement Focused beta test: This testing is performed to monitor one specific feature or component of the software product ● ●

  2. Post-release beta test: In this testing method the fully developed and tested software product is released in the market for the use of end-users, and their feedback is collected to improve the product’s quality What is the beta testing example? Let us now try to understand this testing type with the help of some examples: ● Gaming app – Usually, before a gaming app is launched a beta version of the app is launched in the market to let users identify if there is any bug in the app that is hampering UX. This helps the stakeholders to make an informed decision about the improvement in the product’s quality Shopping app - Before the sale goes live it is checked by the technical group of the organization first to let them identify if there is an issue that can hamper the user’s shopping experience ● Conclusion: For every enterprise customer satisfaction matters a lot. That is why pre and post-release software variety of tests are conducted on the software to help them improve product quality. One such software testing method is beta testing that helps enterprises to gain feedback and suggestions from users regarding product improvement. But this test is quite challenging as it deals with the real product, real users, and real environment. Leverage beta test from a next-gen QA and software testing services provider to achieve the high-quality product that delivers a great UX.
