  3. The Origins of the Commandery • The Commandery Was built about 1100 • It is the second oldest building in Worcester • Opposite – Worcester in the Middle Ages • The Commandery is bottom right (HW)

Key Points for Question 1 • This question is about the great hall. • This was built in about 1500. • Over the years there have been many changes to the great hall. • Some of these changes can be seen. • Restoration has made some changes hard to see • What were the restorers trying to achieve? • Did they succeed?

Key Points for Question 1 • Some of these changes cannot be seen. • There is other evidence of these changes – drawings, photographs etc. • Sometimes it is difficult to find out about the changes –there is not enough evidence or parts have been restored. • The building only has a certain shelf life as a particular museum.
