Humans have limitations • Therefore God put a limit on humans to protect them. And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” Gen 2:16-7

Infinite access to Knowledge of Good and Evil needs: • Infinite ability to accept, forgive and love • Infinite understanding of what justice is, ability restraint from judgment, punishment • Infinite mercy(long suffering) patience and time. • Omniscence to now all the possibile outcomes.

Without infinite unconditional love, grace and mercy, humans are prone to:

Moreover the word of the LORD came to me: Mortal, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord GOD: You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, carnelian, chrysolite, and moonstone, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald; and worked in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. With an anointed cherub as guardian I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked among the stones of fire. You were blameless in your ways from the day that you were created, until iniquity was found in you. Ezekiel 29:11-15

Lucifer was made perfect, blameless and given gifts of beauty and wisdom. • He also had the calling to be the chief cherub so God gave him the power he would need to do that job. • POWER = ability to do or act; capability of doing or accomplishing something, great or marked ability to do or act; strength; might; force. • POWER HE GOT IS A GIFT. • For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Roman 11:29.

Authority = jurisdiction; right to control, command, or determine. • Lucifer was given the role, job assignment of guardian cerub. Thus he was delegated the authority to command those he was in charge of. He too had LIMITS. • Authority unlike power is not a gift but is a delegated right to exercise power/ability/ skill.

Satan falls—desire to be unlimited. How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit. Isaiah 14:12-5

Authority is delegated. When Satan was thrown down(relocated) the authority he had was revokedbut not the power, he had because they are irrevocable gifts from God. He also did not lose skills he learned on the job. • Satan thrown down with his power/skills but no authority to exercise it. (It would be illegal for him to exercise his power on earth without delegated right to do it.)

Satan vs Humans. Why? Mankind is God’s beloved bride. • As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you. Isaiah 62:5 • and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Eph 5:27

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdueit.Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” • Subdue (Kabash): to subdue, force, keep under, bring into bondage, make subservient, dominate, tread down. • Rule over, have dominion over (Rada): to rule, have dominion, dominate, tread down, scrape out.

What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God, and You crown him with glory and majesty! You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, whatever passes through the paths of the seas. Psalms 8:4-8 The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, But the earth He has given to the sons of men. Psalms 115:16

Satan cannot over power God. So he goes after the weaker beloved one. • The weaker one has the authority over the earth that he needs.

Satan also needs a physical body/object to carry out his powers. Ie: a person with driving skills needs a license (the right/authority to drive) and a vechicle. Humans have what he needs, the authority and a physical body. *** He does not need to inhabit us in order to gain the authority and right to use our body.

Trick, deceive, accuse To incite doubt the benefits of limits. To cause doubt in God’s character and goodness in placing limits. To highlight limitations. To despise limits and having limitations.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Gen 3:1-6

Pleasing to the eye and good for food. Rejects the truths that are from God, thereby cutting off input from God. Will submits to the flesh/spirit. Action Behavior

Before Authority of earth given to mankind. Alignment = execution of authority with power and identity. God to spirit to soul to body. Submission to God’s boundaries = protection. After Authority given by man to the serpent. (God never took it back from man.) Misalignment = Mind, emotions and body dictating will, behavior and identity. Disobedience = entry points of attack in the mind, emotions and body. Consequence of the eating the Fruit

Before Building blockof truth becomes a stronghold of truths that reproduces itself. After Information that the mind, emotion and body receives gets filtered through Knowledge of Good and Evil and becomes building blocks. Lies, doubts and accusations, GUILT, judgments and condemnation reproduces. Consequence of Partaking the Fruit

Before Identity is defined by God. Destiny is defined by God Provision is provided by God and what may be unseen. After Identity is defined by information that the mind, emotion and body receives gets and our limited Knowledge of Good and Evil = Shame Destiny is defined by natural evidence, hopeless, directionless. Provision is depended on what we can perceive in the natural. = lack. Consequence of Partaking the Fruit

Before Faith is based on what is not yet seen, on the word of God. What we believe is the evidence of things not yet seen in the natural. What we believe becomes substance. After We have faith based on what we see. What we see becomes the evidence of what we believe. Consequence of Partaking the Fruit Now faith is the substance (assurance, confidence) of things hoped for, the evidence (proof, conviction) of things not seen…Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (things not yet visible). Heb 11:1, 3

God Human Spirit is grounded in truth of God’s promises, identity, destiny, hope and faith for provision Human Mind aligns in truth Human emotions expresses godly emotions of the truth. Human Body acts in alignment. We tell God what to do, we judge God. Human spirit is defined by evidence that is seen and knowledge of good and evil. Human Mind formulate truths form the evidence and Emotions reacts to those truths Human Body received evidence in the natural “Down”side up world ‘DOWN’SIDE UP WORLD

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked (shame, guilt and fear of rejection); so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves (Covering defense mechanism). Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. (Flight defense) But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” Gen 3:7-10

And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (Fight Defense) Gen 3:11-13

Fight or Flight response Kicks in when there is perceived danger. Gears the body up to protect itself. Biologically it’s fight or flight but psychologically and in scripture there is at least 3 response we see in Genesis.

Cover/Distractor Defense Mechanism Self-protective efforts to cover up and distract from anticipated rejection. Motto: Don’t look at my weakness, Look over there! • Look at the good I am doing : pride, achievement, performance, competition, self-idolatry, materialism, overly responsible, fakeness (superficial— always looking good in front of others). • Look there at the other people’s junk: pointing out weakness/failure of others, judgmental, crude joking, putting down others.

Flight(hiding) Response/Defense Self-rejection before anyone else can reject them or to decrease the pain of rejection by someone else. Motto: Don’t find fault with me, I know I suck already. I’m not worthy to be looked at. • I’m not good enough. I’ll never be good enough. I give up: low self-esteem, inferiorities, insecurity, inadequacy, sulking, sadness, depression, grief, shame, false guilt, disappointment, loneliness, withdrawal, wrong expectations, hopelessness, despair, self-pity, negativity, pessimism, suicidal thoughts/attempts, self-harm, self-accusations and

self-condemnation, inability or refusal to communicate, fear of failure, fear of other’s opinions, all kinds of fears, fear of intimacy, anxiety, worry, seeking to please, infirmity, refusing comfort and affections (what’s the point. It’s not going to last anyways) etc. • They are too good for me: envy, jealousy, covetousness, • Don’t look at me: denial, isolation, withdrawal, aloneness, independence, shyness, restlessness. • I won’t look at me either: addictions, workaholics/bus-y-ness, indulgence in pleasures/false gratification, self-deception, escapism.

Flight Response/Defense Self-righteous denial of wrong doing. Motto: I’m not wrong, you are. It’s harmful to your health to correct me. • They are worse than me: Legalistic, blaming others, competition, arrogance, rejection of others, harshness, emotional hardness, criticism, skepticism, control, domination, over- achieving performance type, self-justifying, self-centeredness, sarcasm.

Who are you to tell me what to do: possessiveness, manipulative, unbelief, aggressive attitudes, anger, argumentative, violent, murder, hatred, threatening, bitterness, emotional reactivity, crime, occult, lust, swearing, foul language, gossip, stubbornness(not accepting of other’s view points), defiance, rebellion, fighting, revenge, etc.

Satan is wise in setting up a system base on Fruit of knowledge of good and evil with a Self Sustaining Cycle of Protective Mechanism

Self Sustaining Cycle of Flight Mechanism Trigger: Tossed in pool. Dad scolded me. Why do people always falsely accuse me” I’ll not show my true self till they show me that they are interested in knowing me. More evidence of people not knowing me Mom didn’t listen to my explanation Nobody understands me

Self Sustaining Cycle of Fight Mechanism Trigger: Dad scolded me. Authority figures are not fair **I’ll don’t have to listen to them. They can’t make me. Inward rebellion of resentment. More evidence of people been wrong. **Authority figures think they are right but they are not. I don’t trust or have to listen to them. Mom/teacher didn’t listen to my explanation

Self Sustaining Cycle of Cover Mechanism Trigger: Dad scolded me. I am not loved when I make a mistake. **I’ll make excuses. **I must study more. **At least I’m better than those people. More evidence Brother and sister got praises when they achieve. **I will be l loved and liked if I achieve and perform.

We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind (spirit) and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

To the woman he said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.” Gen 3:16-19

21 The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. 22 And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” 23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. Gen 3:21-3.

Why doesn’t God just destroy Satan? God would then hold authority of the earth. But it was His desire that authority of the earth be man’s. Does not resolve man’s ‘down’side up world and release them from the self sustaining destructive cycles. Does not resolve man’s the separate as a result of shame and guilt secondary to their knowledge of good and evil.
