Employee Sponsored Health Care Cost on W2 • Optional for 2011 • Required in 2012 if you filed 250 or more W2s in the preceding calendar year • “However, in the case of the 2012 Forms W-2 and until the issuance of further guidance, an employer is not subject to the reporting requirement for any calendar year if the employer was required to file fewer than 250 Forms W-2 for the preceding calendar year” • Quoted from IRS notice 2011-28 • http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/n-11-28.pdf

  3. USPSDAT/DEDNAM • Annuity and regular deduction types will now have a new prompt: “Include as employer sponsored health coverage?:” • This field will be defaulted to “N” when implemented • If changed to a “Y” the year to date accumulators for this deduction will be added to the total, which will be reported on the employees W2 in box 12 using code “DD”

  4. USPSCN/DEDSCN • An override field has been added to the federal deduction record allowing the user to override the system calculated value if necessary

  5. W2PROC • W2PROC will include the amount on any applicable employees W2 (box 12 code DD) • W2REPT will include sub totals and grand totals for the employer sponsored health insurance field

  6. W2TAPE • W2TAPE will include the totals on the necessary submission records
