  1. Forest Park High School Honor Court 2008-2009 Who We Are and What We’re All About

  2. What is an Honor Court? The Honor Court is made up of students that work to uphold the Honor Code (I have neither received nor given any unauthorized assistance on this or any future assignment). The Court hears cases regarding violations of the Code. Students and Faculty may both send someone to the Honor Court by filling out the appropriate application.

  3. How Do I Get Sent to Honor Court? If you are caught: • cheating, • plagiarizing, • fabricating, • misrepresenting your academic records, • helping others cheat or, • attempting to gain an unfair advantage YOU WILL BE SENT TO THE HONOR COURT!

  4. What Happens at the Honor Court? The Honor Court reviews the case, and asks both the accused and the accuser to testify at a trial. The accuser testifies first and answers any questions and then is asked to wait outside the courtroom. Then, the accused testifies and answers any questions. The Court deliberates and makes their decision as to whether you are guilty or not. Your administrator will notify you of the decision within 3 days.

  5. What Happens if I’m Guilty? If the Court finds you guilty, you are sent to your administrator and they find the necessary punishment for you. The Honor Court does NOT give you the punishment, your ADMINISTRATOR does!

  6. What Happens if I’m Not Guilty? If you are NOT found guilty, one of a few things could happen: • No further penalty • You will be given the opportunity to make up the work in a time period dictated by your teacher.

  7. What Can I Do? As students, your responsibilities are to do your best to avoid a violation, ask your teachers about potential problem areas and ALWAYS ask your teachers which assignments you can work with partners on.
