  4. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE • To test evacuation mechanism and system that have been built in communities • To develop synergies of all actors’ capacities in order to implement community evacution • To support sustainability of evacuation mechanism and system at communities

  5. GENERAL OBJECTIVE To improve community capacity for conducting tsunami evacution through activities together with communities and all actors in purpose to build resilience

LOCATION The locations are selected based on: • Location plan of resilient village program from Tsunami Masterplan • Community readiness and the development plan of temporary evacuation shelter Location: • Padang City (3 evacuation points): • Escape Building Kantor Gubernur (untuk Kelurahan Purus dan Padang Pasir) • Masjid Muhajirin (untuk Kelurahan Bungo Pasang) • SMA 1 dan SMP 25 Padang (untuk Kelurahan Lolong Belanti) • Mentawai Island District (2 evacuation points): • Hill areas in Jati and Mapadegat villages (North Sipora sub-district) • (Talileo / Saibi / Saleguma village, West Siberut sub-district will be decided after site survey and agreement with other working groups)

  13. Facility in Governor office : • Warning Siren • Wide strair and accessible for disable people • Toilet • Clean water • 2 floors • helipad

  15. Facility in Muhajirin Mosque: • warning siren sound, but not be tested yet • Weaknesses: • Stair to 3rd floor is too narrow. • No clean water facility and logistic storage at 3rd floor • No communication device • No emergency kits and equipments

  17. Facility in SMP 25 Padang: • 20 toilets • 46 classes • Open space (yard) • 3 wells • Electricity • The buidling was designed for shelter • Medical unit at 3rd floor, but limited equipments

PARTICIPANT • Village Disaster Preparedness Team: • 6 villages • On average 20 people per village • School Disaster Preparedness Team: • 3 Elementery school • 1 Junior high school • 1 Senior high school • On average 50 people per school • Villagers in tsunami prone areas (red zone) based on exerise scenario: • Padang: 500 people • Mentawai: 200 people
