  2. The Start • Art Deco is an eclectic artistic and design style. The style originated in the 1920sand continued to be employed until after World War II. • The term "art deco" was the culmination of high-end style modern in Paris.

  3. Its Everywhere • Art Deco affected all areas of design including architecture and industrial design, as well as the visual arts such as painting, the graphic arts and film. • At the time, this style was seen as elegant, glamorous, functional and modern.

  4. Pure Style • Although many design movements have political or philosophical roots or intentions, Art Deco was purely decorative.

  5. The structure of Art Deco is based on mathematical geometric shapes.

  6. The style is said to have reflected the tensions in the cultural politics of its day

  7. I find this style and decorative art very cool, and visually appealing.
