November Events Tuesday 2 nd November- Fire Engine Visit

1. - Lymm November 2016 We have had a busy term and year at Lymm. We have opened 2 new rooms Rising 3’s and Out of School club which are both running really well. We have welcomed lots more families and staff this term, I hope you are all settling in well. We have also set up a Forest School for the pre-school children who attend. The children have really embraced this and enjoy their visits to the woodland in Lymm. We are looking forward to the busy Christmas period, we have lots of lovely events planned for the Children and families at Kids Planet. We also look forward to a successful and happy 2017. m November Events Tuesday 2nd November- Fire Engine Visit The local fire brigade will be coming along to meet the children and show them the fire engine. We will learn all about the job they do. Thursday 3rd November – Sandwich day We will be making our own sandwiches to eat for our lunch Friday 4th November – Bonfire celebrations We will be celebrating bonfire night, getting crafty and learning about bonfire night. Steph will be putting on her famous firework display for the pre-school and rising 3’s children Saturday 5th November – Lymm Big Bonfire Night Kids Planet will be sponsoring the event organised by Lymm Round Table, see facebook / twitter for details or http://www.lymmroundtable.co.uk/events/big-lymm-bonfire/ look out for our guy made by pre-school on the bonfire Friday 11th November- Remembrance day We will be dressing in red for the day and learning all about remembrance day, we will be creating poppy's in art and craft Wednesday 16th November – Disney Day We will all be dressing up as our favourite Disney characters for the day and celebrating all things Disney for Mickey Mouse's birthday on Friday 18th Friday 18th November – Children in need Pre-school will be taking part in a sponsored walk, we will all be wearing spots for the day, please can all families bring in a donation for the day Monday 21st November- Road Safety Week We will be learning all about road safety today, talking about how to keep safe when crossing the road. Thursday 24th November – Thanksgiving Day We will be having a lovely roast dinner to celebrate the day and learning about Thanksgiving traditions. Thursday 29th November – The day of giving/ Salvation Army Gift Appeal We will be learning about sharing, being kind to others. We will learn about why its kind to give to others. We are encouraging all families to bring along a Christmas gift on this day for Warrington Salvation Army for those children who may not get a gift this year.

2. Ballet – Joanne is here on a Tuesday morning at 9.30am for children aged 18+. The session lasts for 45 minutes and is £3.50 per session Pyjama Drama- Emma is here on a Thursday afternoon at 2pm for children aged 2-4 years. The session lasts for 45 minutes and is £2.50 per lesson Les Copains French - Sabine is here on a Wednesday morning at 10.45am for children aged 2-4 years. The session lasts for 45 minutes and is £2.50 per lesson. Mini Kickers Football– Steve is here on Thursday morning at 10am for toddler and pre-school children, the session lasts for 45 minutes and is £2 per session Activate Fun – Danny will be here on a Monday afternoon at 2.30pm. The session lasts for 30 minutes and costs £2 per session. Spanish – Ana will be here on Fridays at 10am for Spanish lessons for 2 and a half to 4 year old. The session lasts for 30 mins and is £2.50 per session. 3. Babies have been making lots of Halloween artwork, getting creative with finger paints and gluing and sticking. We have been on some lovely Autumn walks looking for the signs of Autumn. We will be updating our role play area on and have some new cots for our cot room on the way to make a little more space in the room for the children to rest. We have been making lots of new friends this month. Tots have been making lots of Halloween crafts ready for our party. We have been learning all about Autumn going on Autumn walks to Lymm dam and collecting autumn leaves for play and craft. We have been focusing on messy play this month looking at textures and art and craft. We have new maths resources and the children have enjoyed counting and using stackers to build towers. We have renovated the room having it repainted and will have new blinds and new resources to the sensory room very soon. Toddlers have been learning about textures in messy play, we have been playing lots of games to help us with matching colours and using our coloured blocks to make towers. We have added a camping area to our role play to follow the children’s interests and have been getting very crafty to decorate our room for Halloween. In phonics we have been using our song and sound bags to develop our speaking and listening skills in phase 1 phonics. We have been learning about Autumn and the signs to look out for. We have been collecting Autumn leaves and conkers to look at in nursery. We have enjoyed getting creative for Halloween, making lots of art and crafts ready for our party day. We are starting to get ready to celebrate Diwali at the end of the month. In phonics we have been looking at loud and quiet and learning about animal noises. We have enjoyed looking at the different sounds on the alpha block game on the computer. We have been looking at Autumn, using items we have found in forest school to use in messy and investigation play. In forest school we have enjoyed using our imagination to create activities in the woodland. We have been looking at holidays and the different places we all go on holiday. We have been learning about camping and going on an aeroplane. We have lots of children who have moved into pre-school so we have been learning about ourselves looking, at similarities and differences and making new friends. We are starting to look at people who help us in the community. We have had the local dentist come in to visit and the fire brigade will be in soon. If any of our parents have any skills that they would like to come in a share please let us know. We have also moved into our phase 2 phonics and have started to look at the sounds within this. We are hoping to put on some parent training in the new year. 4. Parking Can we please remind all parents that you can park on the St Winifred’s Church car park at busy periods. Please be courteous to each other at busy times and do not block other cars in. Please walk to nursery where possible. Birthday Cake If your child’s birthday is approaching and you would like us to provide a birthday cake for them to share with their friends please see a member of staff who can arrange this with the cook. There will be a £5.oo charge for this service and we would need at least 2 weeks notice. Nursery Hairdresser Bonny our Nursery Hairdresser will be here on Wednesday 2nd November – if you would like to book in please speak to a member of staff. Parent Email We want to remind all parents that we have parent email. We hope to include all parents on this as its helps the environment by saving lots of paper at nursery. We also need parents to let us know if they have signed up but have yet to receive anything as some of the email addresses do not seem to work. I just want to remind you that if you do need a place at nursery for your new arrival then please book them in as early as possible.
