  2. Mongol Invasion • In the mid 200’s Mongols were threatened by the Muslims. • Mongols were nomadic people from the north of china. • The leader is Genghis Khan.

  3. Mongol Invasion part 2 • Mongols invaded central Asia, slaughtered hundreds of thousands of people. • Many Muslims were carried to Mongolia as slaves.

  4. After Genghis Khan • Built an empire across Asia. • Defeated the Turks and seized parts of Persia. • 1258 Destroyed Baghdad.

  5. After Genghis Khan • Muslims stop Mongol invasion in west, led by the mamluks. • 1260 Mamluks defeated Mongols in Palestine to over through the Salah-Al-Din dynasty. • Mamluks ruled Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Anatolia- in 1517.
