  2. Two Designations are Available LSLS Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist (LSLS Cert. AVT): Works one-on-one with children and families in all intervention sessions LSLS Certified Auditory-Verbal Educator (LSLS Cert. AVEd): Involves the family and works directly with children in individual, group or classroom settings

  3. The Certification Process 3-5 Years Academic Professional Post graduate education Mentoring Final examination

  4. Academic Applicant must have a prerequisite level of academic qualification

  5. Professional The applicant must complete 900 hours of clinical time working in a Listening and Spoken Language role.

  6. Post Graduate Study The applicant must attend at least eighty hours of post graduate study, including ten hours observation of a practising LSLS.

  7. Mentoring A candidate must have twenty sessions ‘mentored’ by a certified LSLS. This includes in depth documentation and discussion. This can be achieved face to face or using video/webcam technology

  8. Examination At the conclusion of the process, the candidate sits the LSLS examination. The LSLS exam is defensible and verifiable, and follows National Organization for CompetencyAssurance (NOCA) standards Pass rate is approximately 60%.
