  5. B. IT(Honours)Info. Systems Engineering • This programme focusses on the design and development of computer-based systems to enhance the efficiency of business organisations. Students of this programme are not only capable of designing databases and information systems, they are well-trained in making informed management decision based on the quality of the on-demand information they have. • This programme involves a detailed study of databases design and management, data communications and telecommunication systems, artificial intelligence, expert systems, information systems development, systems analysis and design and multimedia systems.

  6. B. IT(Honours)Software Engineering • This programme is concerned with designing innovative methodologies and sophisticated tools for developing software systems. Students are exposed to various techniques of analysing user requirements and specifications, as well as the design, implementation and verification of software systems. • Some of the core courses include object-oriented-programming, software engineering, systems analysis and design, and software project management.

  7. B. IT(Honours)Multimedia Systems • This programme mainly concentrates on the highly technical aspect of multimedia system. The students are trained and equipped not only with the skills of using such systems but they are also trained to specialize in the creation of such multimedia systems. • The students would learn highly technical aspect of multimedia systems such as Computer Security, High-Speed Network, Multimedia System Design as well as a wide spectrum of advanced programming and technical skills which cover Digital Signal Processing, Digital Image Processing, Digital Audio & Speech Processing, Computer Graphics, Rendering & Animation and Virtual Reality.

  8. B. IT(Honours)M/media Tech. Management • This programme concentrates on the technologies and skills which would empower the students to be able to manage effectively the fast changing world of multimedia technology. The students are exposed to the various practical aspects of Management Information System, Multimedia Information Systems & Management, Software Project Management, Software Reliability & Quality Assurance. • The students would also learn advanced multimedia subjects such as Multimedia Management and Presentation, Multimedia Programming, Multimedia Operating Systems and also Multimedia Expert Systems.

IT(Honours)Knowledge Engineering • To provide the students with IT knowledge, engineering design and skills in knowledge management and knowledge discovery • 3 year course comprising IT Core subjects, Major subjects, Mathematical subjects, Arts and Humanities subjects, Industrial Training and Graduation Project. • Major subjects include: AI, Natural Language Processing, Knowledge Management, Agent Technology, Data Mining, Database Design, Business Intelligence and Decision Support Systems

B.MM(Honours)S/w Engineering & Games Design • This programme mainly concentrates on providing fundamental training in software engineering to the students and mastering of sophisticated software tools for multimedia games and graphics based applications development. • In addition to fundamental software engineering subjects, Computer Graphics, Games Programming, Games Authoring and Application and Games Design are other important subjects covered in this course. • This programme will initiate innovative ideas and skills in both software development and games design.

  11. B.MM(Honours)Software & Animation • This programme concentrates on designing and mastering innovative methodologies for animation and media production process. In addition to the fundamental training in software systems and programming, the students are also exposed to animation related courses such as Computer Graphics, Computer Modeling and Animation, Interactive Media Design, Rendering and Animation, Digital Image Processing and Virtual Reality.

  17. Tuition Fee • An approximate amount of about 12K per annum for 3 years after STPM • RM 287.50 per credit hour (Mathematical & Science, Core and Major subjects) • RM 237.50 per credit hour (University Subjects)

  18. Financial Assistance • Normally students will apply for PTPTN loan • PTPTN stands for Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Negara • Students may also apply for scholarships • The scholarship terms and conditions are set by the company that offers it. • 90% of MMU students are under scholarships or loans • Examples: Motorola/Intel/GE/Multimedia Foundation etc.
