  2. 2005 NORCECA Report and Confederations Activities By: Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, NORCECA President With the guidance of FIVB's President, Dr. Rubén Acosta Hernandez, and the extraordinary success achieved by NORCECA's Administration during the past four year, 2005 have shown the capacity for an excellent management of NORCECA Volleyball Confederation and the responsibility and leadership of the men and the women that today form part of the Executive Committee and Board of Administration of the North, Central America and the Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA). A total of (18) Regional, Continental and International Volleyball and Beach Volleyball competitions were developed during the year 2005, completing NORCECA's competition calendar as established. All of NORCECA Commissions meetings, Sports Organizing, Refereeing, Beach Volleyball, Technical & Coaches, Medicals, Press, Marketing and Finance were held as scheduled during the month of February in the current year with enormous results. In 2005 all Commissions held their meetings in the newly NORCECA Headquarters, that today constitute a modern facility for NORCECA's Administration. Located in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, well equipped with the latest technology available, NORCECA Headquarters has sufficient office space to comfortable host the Board of Administration and Executive Committee, as well as all of NORCECA Commissions.

President Activity Report NORCECA's Annual President Activity Report for the year 2005, was presented as scheduled, reporting the results of all competitions held during the year, as well as, NORCECA Competition Calendar. Special reports were also presented covering the IV Pan-American Women Cups (World Grand Prix Qualification Tournament) and the report of the competitions held by our Zonal Associations, CAZOVA and AFECAVOL.

  9. Communication NORCECA's website and Newsletters have become an indispensable important tool for the promotion and information of all of NORCECA activities and competitions. During the year 2005 more than 80 Newsletters travelled around the world informing NORCECA's activities and competitions that were followed by more than 120,000 subscribers. NORCECA's website constitute today one of the leading volleyball information websites, being up to date with information and results of NORCECA's Zonal, Regional, Continental and International competitions and championships.

Marketing Progressively Norceca is achieving the new marketing strategy for our major events (Continental Beach Volleyball, Pan-American Women's Volleyball Cups and NORCECA's Senior Continental Championship). The marketing of NORCECA's events have become an important source of income for our budget in addition to our main sponsor, MIKASA, that continues to contribute with an annual worth of US$50,000.00 in volleyball equipments, that every year is distributed among NORCECA's affiliated National Federation in order to support the development of volleyball in their respective countries.

NORCECA’s Regional Association NORCECA's continuous support and assistance to the Central American National Federation Association, AFECAVOL, and to the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association, CAZOVA, has well paid off. Today, both Regional Associations have organized their administration and complied as established, with their competition calendar and also held, as schedule, their General Assemblies.

  33. 2005 NORCECA Report The XVIII NORCECA Congress 2005 is October 21-22, Dr. Ruben Acosta Hernandez PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic, October 22, 2005.- Cristobal Marte Hoffiz of Dominican Republic was re-elected as president of the North, Central American and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation during the second and final day of the XVIII Congress of the organization. Along with Marte, also were elected Alejandro Salinas of Mexico as Executive Vice President and Marta Centeno of Guatemala as General Secretary. Alan Ahac, Mushtaque Mohammed and Edgar Alvarado, of Canada, Trinidad & Tobago and Costa Rica respectively were chosen as Zonal Vice Presidents and Carlos Beltran of Puerto Rico as Vice President of Beach Volleyball. John Griffith of Barbados, will be the treasurer. Elected as members of the Board of Administration were Angel Iglesias of Cuba, Doug Beal of United States, Bertha Cuadra of Nicaragua, Rupert Sorhaindo of Dominica and Glenn Quinlan of St. Kitts..
