2. Hitler was the leader of Germany. His country had suffered defeat and humiliation in World War I and was now heading into depression, as were many countries of the world. Germany after World War I Hitler believed that Germany’s economic problems could be blamed on the Jews. He also decided that it would help restore Germany by taking over other countries in order to benefit from their natural resources and wealth. Every country had to decide • whether to fight back or just surrender. 8. In 1941, things were not looking good for the Allied Powers. Japan, Italy and Germany were strong and kept up their invasions and occupations of other countries. Then Hitler made a fatal blunder: He invaded Russia. It was the beginning of the end for Germany and the Axis Powers, but finally gave a chance for the Allies to gain victory.
