Dear Teachers: Pan-Asian conference is the one which gather all professional experts from Thai TESOL, Korea TESOL, Japan Association for Language Teaching ( JALT ), and English Teachers Association of the Republic of China (ETA-ROC), together for the area of English Language Teaching. It is our great pleasure to inform you that the 11th International Symposium Book Fair on English hosted by ETA ( English Teacher’s Association) will be held from November 8th to November 10th ( Friday- Sunday) at Chien Tan Overseas Youth Activity Center in Taipei. It is also ETA’s turn to host the 4th Pan-Asian Conference in Taipei in November 2002, in conjunction with our annual conference. This year, McGraw-Hill will invite many heavyweights including authors, publishers, editors and teachers to share their valuable views on creating new teaching materials, methods, and mindsets for a new era.   3. 5) SRA Reading Lab: Making Better Readers in Taiwan Saturday, Nov. , 09 ( 13:10-14:10) Presentation Room : 328 The goal of any successful ESL Reading Program in Taiwan should be to produce confident independent readers. The Taiwanese ESL Student must develop the ability to read alone, think clearly about, and comprehend most of the information she takes in, in order to acquire and maintain life-long reading skills. In short, the ESL Reading Teacher cannot be a crutch the student relies upon. SRA Reading Lab is an in-classroom tool ESL Students can use to develop, nourish and systematically grow such crucial language skills.
