  1. “A Lesson Well Learned” • How did the first student try to use curiosity to get the wise man to leave the cave? • What emotion did the other student try to use on his first try? How do you know? • How did the wise man’s pride cause him to be fooled?

  2. Question of the Day Day 1: What is your favorite folktale or fairy tale? Explain. Day 2: What other folktale do you know in which one character tricks another? What happens in that story? Day 3: How might the sisters act differently the next time their mother leaves them home alone?

  3. Question of the Day Day 4: How are the actions of the wolf in “Lon Po Po” different from those of a real wolf? Day 5: Shang tells the wolf that eating one gingko nut will help him live forever. While nuts and fruits can’t really do this, they are healthful foods. What are some of the health benefits of eating nuts and fruits?
