  1. Plastics for longer life ®

  2. Plastics for longer life® - increase the service lives of your machines with plastics Lower costs and raise service life by eliminating lubrication and lowering maintenance works, everything delivered from stock immediately - that is the core idea and objective behind all igus® products, systems and services. igus® plastics with their tested and proven properties in durability, friction and stability are the main focus of the igus® products. The dry-running polymer bearings save money and increase the safety of machinery. Lubricant and maintenance-free plastic bearings are also environmentally friendly. Polymer plain bearings from igus® signifies the step from the plastic bushing to the proven and tested, and thereby calculable and quickly available, machine element. Our research is aimed at precise forecasts of bearing properties, especially the life cycle, achieved by continuous advances in materials. Low weight, corrosion resistance, and zero maintenance and lubrication achieve solutions for nearly all types of applications. Install it and forget it!

  3. igus product range • Energy Chains • Chainflex • Readychains • iglidur bearings • igubal bearings • DryLin linear slides • xiros plastic ball bearings • Robolink • Speedigus

  4. Energy chains Designed to guide and protect Energy Chains® and Energy Chain Systems® are like the umbilical cords of modern machines. They reduce downtimes and increase the service lives of cables and hoses. Plastic Energy Chains® have been developed, produced and tested by igus® since 1971. The igus® product range includes over 80,000 innovative products from stock and from "batch size one". From the smallest Micro FLIZZ® chain to the world's biggest* polymer E-Chain®. Our know-how is continuously advanced, also in collaboration with our customers, and then introduced into serial production. Energy Chains® - Universal use • Various types of motion. • Carry sensitive bus, data and fibre optic cables, as well as energy forms such as electricity, gas, air and liquids. • In case of very high dynamic stressing capacity and tough demands on service life. • Smooth operation in a full range of environments and climates. • Space-saving installation. • High accelerations are fielded. • Simple assembly of the modular system on site, as well as quick retrofit of cables.

  5. Chainflexflexible cables Chainflex® cables prevent cable downtimes in energy chain® applications. The advantages and special features can be summarized by "unique - tested - lean". Advantages • Prevent cable downtimes • Extend machine running times • Minimize abrasion • Reduce installation space • Developed by igus® • unique - tested - lean For all queries regarding the advantages of the highly flexible Chainflex® cables, our product managers are always at your disposal.

  6. Readychains igus ReadyChain is a complete system, comprising igus pre-harnessed cables, plugs, connectors and Energy Chain. It may be quite a simple design or a complex one with Chainflex cables alongside pneumatic and hydraulic hose. igus provides an extensive range of cables ranging from servo to fibre optics with many more. And it’s not just cabling; further complementary additions to the igus ReadyChain system include hoses, manifolds and linear slide bearings. With 1000+ Chainflex solutions and 3,500 connector components in stock, a complete ReadyChain system can be tailor-made to meet with any project requirement and will be assembled and delivered within three to ten days. In addition to shortened lead times, when OEMs choose an igus ReadyChain system their component storage costs are reduced and lower individual parts ordering and shipping costs. All components used in ReadyChain systems undergo extensive quality control and functional tests and come with the igus chain and cable guarantee to agreed and defined parameters. So, should ever there be a problem – igus is just one phone call away.

  7. iglidur bearings iglidur polymer plain bearings from igus are lubrication-free, maintenance-free, low cost and versatile. Either for automotive mass production, the aerospace industry, or special machine design, underwater applications, the food and packaging industry, extreme temperatures and chemical resistance, or simple sheet metal applications: iglidur plastic bushings always offer a solution- either from the catalogue range or a special custom solution, with no minimum order.

  8. igubal spherical bearings Plastic bearing experts igus UK, produce a complete range of self-aligning rod ends, spherical bearings and thrust bearings that are around 80% lighter than their standard steel counterparts. The igubal spherical bearing range is a complete series of light-weight, plastic self aligning bearing components consisting of a variety of rod end, press fit and thrust bearings. Due to their high performance properties all bearings within the igubal program offer an array of benefits to the engineer. Vibration, noise, chemicals and moisture can impede the performance of metal components; this in turn can cause an engineer real problems when a machine is in operation, whereas bearings made from plastic do not have these issues. All igus’ bearings including igubal are lifetime tested through millions of vigorous cycles in a variety of environmental conditions and have proven benefits, such as low coefficient of friction and high tensile strength. Therefore engineers can rest assured that time wasted on unscheduled maintenance is unlikely to occur. Also, within the igubal range are clevis joints, pillow blocks, detectable self aligning bearings and flange bearings, all of which are laboratory tested and come with the igus guarantee.

  9. DryLin linear slides DryLin® is a range of maintenance-free and lubricant-free linear bearings in four different type series. In addition the range is complemented by complete linear units with spindle drive or toothed belt. Besides the freedom from maintenance and lubricants, the main features include ruggedness and the insensitivity to dirt, water, chemicals, heat or impacts. Advantages • maintenance-free • lubrication free • Resistant to dirt, dust and humidity • Weight reduction • For short-stroke applications • Self-lubricating • Very quiet run • wear-resistant • Corrosion-resistant • Insensitive to impacts and vibrations • Low coefficients of friction • High static load capacity • High speeds and accelerations possible • Low magnetism

  10. xiros plastic ball bearings xiros® plastic ball bearings require no lubrication or maintenance. Conventional steel bearings rust and need to be greased, xiros® plastic bearings run dry. The use of igus hi-tech polymer materials allow xiros® plastic bearings to be used in almost every application. • Lubrication and maintenance-free • High corrosion resistance • For temperatures up to +150°C • Use underwater, no corrosion • Non-magnetic • Lightweight

  11. Robolink articulated modules for robots Polymer specialist igus® offers robot developers and laboratories a light weight, maintenance and corrosion-free range of connection of joints. For example, humanoid systems, general lightweight construction, handling/automation and camera tripods. The plastic joints can rotate and pivot freely (draw-wire technology, 4 cords per joint). The pneumatic, hydraulic and all data cables are laid through the aluminium/carbon fibre/plastic articulated arms to reliably control the sensors and sensory organs. No expensive milling, no cutting, no tinkering, no fiddling any more – all custom made from one source! • Moving mass is reduced to the minimum • The actuators (engines, pneumatics and hydraulics) and the control module (DP, PC) are separate to the movement nor and tools. All heavy components can now be bundled centrally and only the light plastic skeletal part can be moved! Thereby the individual degrees of freedom can be controlled individually.

  12. Speedigus It is a new tooling method for injection moulding developed by polymer specialist igus. There are no minimum order quantities, so speedigus is ideal for ‘one offs’, prototyping, low volumes and bridge tooling. Standard tool manufacture can take 4-8 weeks and is usually only available for minimum orders of normally around 5,000 pieces, making speedigus a far more cost-effective and practical option for lower volume requirements. The standard lead time using speedigus is 15 days from placement of order – all that is required for a quotation is a 3D CAD file, preferably a STEP file and the required quantity – for faster production a premium is charged. igus currently manufactures speedigus parts in eight common iglidur materials (iglidur G, J, W300, X, M250, P, A180 and H2) as well as igumid G, the igus E-Chain material; the designer selects the material best suited to the application.
