  1. Asthma By: Kyle Brenner and Mary Wolstencroft

  2. How do you get Asthma?? You in fact do not “catch” Asthma, it is a lung disease that you develope.

  3. Who can it affect? There have been studies shown, that before the age of puberty, asthma is more commonly found in boys, rather than the girls. However, as the people mature, the results flip. Also about 9 million of the asthma sufferers, are children. There are four and a half more visits to the hospital, from African Americans, rather than Americans.

  4. How Do you Treat it? There is no cure for Asthma, however there are rescue inhalers, and medications that help open up airways in case of an emergency. One huge thing is finding out what triggers your asthma, and then furthering yourself from those causes.

  5. What does Asthma actually do? Asthma is a chronic disease, in which people have attacks where their airways close up, so it is very difficult to breath. The main airway (Trachea) and the Bronchioles are the main parts that caused the attack. They actually contract, forcing less air to go through.

  7. Symptoms of Asthma If you have shortness of breath,or wheezing a lot, and if you are coughing all the time especially at night, you should go see your doctor right away because you might have Asthma.

Things that will trigger your asthma If you have Asthma some things that can trigger your asthma are: Tobacco products , if you smoke or use tobacco products if you have asthma then you should quit. Dust mites, every home has dust mites and they can trigger an asthma attack use pillowcases and mattress sheets to help prevent the asthma attack. Your pets can also trigger your asthma, after every time you are done with touching or playing with your pet you should wash your hands to prevent an asthma attack.

  10. What is an Asthma attack? An asthma attack is when your Airways in your lungs get smaller, the walls of your airways swell up on the inside so less air can get through to your lungs and some of the mucous that your body makes clogs up your airways too.
