  6. Count Reminders Parentally Placed Private School Students must be counted. • Plan Type is “Pvt. Sch. Svs. Plan” not “IEP.” • Setting should be “Parentally Placed in Private School (PSSP only).” Do not use this setting for IEPs.

  7. Count Reminders Common errors to check for: • Exceptionality, Setting, Dates must be correct. • Grade should be reasonable for age, e.g., no 8 yr. olds in grade 10; Pre-K should be 5 or less.

  8. Student UID Purpose: • Assigns a unique identifier (NC WISE ID#) to all children entering into the educational system. • Allows data stored in separate systems to be brought together to form a complete record for a child.

  9. Student UID EC users in each LEA, Charter School and State Operated Program must resolve near matches for children not enrolled in a school (PK and Out of School).

  10. Student UID Best Practices: If unsure or the child does not have an NC WISE ID# leave this field blank in CECAS. Use the Local ID# field instead. Resolve near matches in UID system as quickly as possible to avoid duplicating unresolved near matches that still exist when a new data load is submitted from CECAS to UID.

  11. Student UID Current Schedule (Subject to Change): • Data submitted automatically from CECAS to UID for processing the 22nd of each month • Users log into UID system to resolve near matches after the 22nd • Near matches must be resolved prior to the next data submission • CECAS NC WISE ID# and demographic data will be updated on Mondays as IDs are assigned and near matches resolved

  12. Race/Ethnicity New codes required beginning with the 2010-2011 school year • Two-part question used for collection of data • Seven categories used in reporting • CECAS data entry screen and reports to be modified • Integration with NC WISE in future
