  2. About EekoWorld - Organization • Produced by PBS and Bean Creative for PBS Kids Go! • Funded by Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) • Advisory board includes 2 secondary school teachers, a college professor of literacy and language, and the outreach director for Sea Studios Foundation

About EekoWorld - Mission • To “help children between the ages of 6 and 9 learn about the important role they can play in taking care of the earth” by featuring “an engaging and interactive format that invites children to explore, experiment, and collaborate as they learn about conservation and the environment.” • http://www.pbs.org/parents/eekoworld/index.html

About EekoWorld – Learning Outcomes • Introducing children to the basic elements of ecosystems • Fostering an increased awareness of pollution producers • Displaying the effects of pollution on plants and animals, as well as the land, air, and water • Examining both local and global conservation acts • Highlighting innovative and creative technologies that minimize pollution • Encouraging collaboration and community efforts to improve the environment • Fostering the sharing of conservation efforts and ideas in the moderated EekoExchange forum
