  3. HOMEWORK A FRONT COVER FOR YOUR FOLDER WHICH SHOWS THE SUBJECT OF HORROR!! PLUS 5 DESCRIPTIVE WORDS OF HORROR

  4. PAIRS ACTIVITY • SCULPTING • Create a statue of a monster • How does he STAND? • Think about his HEAD. • What are his LEGS doing? • FACIAL EXPRESSION!

  5. 10 minutes In groups of 4/5 Create a freeze frame showing: Scene 1 The Waxworks Monsters are being arranged and displayed by the staff. Scene 2 The children look at the Waxworks Monster display. They pull faces at the monsters.

  6. 10 minutes Now Create a MIME showing: Scene 1 The Waxworks Monsters are being arranged and displayed by the staff. Scene 2 The children look at the Waxworks Monster display. They pull faces at the monsters. ADD NARRATION to scene 1 and 2

  7. REMEMBER TO STAY IN CHARACTER • Next …. Think about the noise your monster may create • Slowly bring him to life with sound and movement

  9. Horror? 5 mins • What is horror? • What makes you scared? Music/ camera shots/ make up/ setting

  11. Starter Activity HOWL!!! • Walking around the room…. • Stop • Go • Clap • Jump • Horror noises SCREAM Spooky laugh

  12. 5 minutes Recap your MIME and NARRATION showing: Scene 1 The Waxworks Monsters are being arranged and displayed by the staff. Scene 2 The children look at the Waxworks Monster display. They pull faces at the monsters.

  13. 10 minutes Create a freeze frame showing: Scene 3 It is closing time. Mr Dane the caretaker enters to lock up so the teenagers pretend to be monsters and become like statues. Scene 4 Mr Dane dusts all the monsters unaware of the teenagers. He leaves and locks the door. Put your 4 freeze frames together!

  14. 10 minutes Create a MOVEMENT and DIALOGUE to your freeze frames : Scene 3 It is closing time. Mr Dane the caretaker enters to lock up so the teenagers pretend to be monsters and become like statues. Scene 4 Mr Dane dusts all the monsters unaware of the teenagers. He leaves and locks the door.

  18. 5minutes RECAP……. Scene 1 The Waxworks Monsters are being arranged and displayed by the staff. Scene 2 The children look at the monster display. They pull faces at the monsters. Scene 3 It is closing time. MrDane enters to lock up so the teenagers pretend to be monsters and become like statues. Scene 4 Mr Dane dusts all the monsters unaware of the teenagers. He leaves and locks the door.

  19. 10 minutes Add NARRATION AND MIME……. Scene 5 It is late and dark…the teenagers try to leave but they find the door is locked. Scene 6 In the shadows they think they see the monsters move.

  20. 10 minutes Use SLOW MOTION and NARRATION to show……. Scene 7 Slowly the Monsters come to life and move towards the trapped teenagers… … … … … … Create your own scene 8

  23. Music… 10 mins Close your eyes…. • Feelings? How does the music make you feel? • Imagery? What does the music make you think of?

  24. Your Horror Scene… 5mins Create a characterusing your thoughts and feelings evoked from the music.

  25. Your Horror Scene… 15mins In Groups Create a piece of drama to show what is happening while the music plays…. How are you going to create your drama?
