  2. Uniquely Finnish – since 1993 The Uniquely Finnish -label is a national quality label for small entrepreneurs: • Foodstuff enterprises • Arts and crafts enterprises • Rural tourism enterprises Association of ProAgriaCentreshasgranted over 380 labelssince 1993. Association of ProAgriaCentres

The general criteria of The Uniquely Finnish companies • An existing quality management system based on ISO 9001:2008 standards. • It has to be assessed at least every three years. • A high degree of domestic origin. • At least 80 % of the cost of the product (including work and materials). • The most important ingredients of foodstuffs and meals provided by service companies must be 100 % domestic. • The product or service must be accepted by a panel of experts.   4. Quality label is a bond between the enterprise and the ProAgria Center • Qualitylabeloffersaddedvalue to smallruralareaenterprises • Fromourpoint of viewitgives us a tool to marketourservices. How do we work? • Association of ProAgriaCentres • Coordinate and developes the Qualitylabel-service • Maintenance of enterpriseregister • Coordinateallmarketing, implementing national marketing • Informing the enterprises and co-operators • The ProAgria Center • Every center has a namedadvisorwhotakescare of qualitylabelservice on centersarea – contact person in labelmatters. • Marketing the label at ownarea • Audits in enterpriseseverythirdyear • Offercentersservices Association of ProAgria Centres

  6. What do they expect? • Expectations varies a lot. Depending on ->Service/product. Local market/national market. Strong grow/staying on achieved level. Generally speaking, enterprises have expectations for quality label and for service/advisory • They expect that the label is wellknown among the consumers and retailers • They expect that the use of label increase their sale. (It requires that consumer know the label.) Association of ProAgriaCentres

What do they expect? • They want education in current matters and training for quality management. • Consultation in different matters concerning their business (Advisor needs to listen and provide a solution!) • Events where to meet other enterpreneuers -> chance to benchmark, learning from others • They expect to get sector relevant information (economy, effectiveness of processes) from other enterprises in the same field. What do we provide? • Quality label -> increase consumers trust against enterprise´s services or products • Training for quality management. • Helping Hand – Advisor should play a part called “godparent” for entrepreneuers. Trust is a keyword. • Enterprise will be a part of the respected Uniquely Finnish -enterprise network. Association of ProAgria Centres

Quality requirements for Rural tourism enterprises • An approved quality management system and a food safety management system approved by the authorities (dining services) • The most important ingredients of the meals must be 100 % domestic • Local food produced within the province • The services must be accepted by a panel of experts • The “original history” of the product creates added value • The accommodation facilities of the rural tourism enterprises are categorised according to the national standards concerning accommodation facilities Association of ProAgria Centres

  14. Quality requirements for Handicrafts • An existing quality management system • A high degree of domestic origin. At least 80% of the cost of the product (including work and materials) • The product must be accepted by a panel of experts • The practicality, the quality of the design and the craftsmanship of the product • The “original history” of the product creates added value • A company like production method as well as the quantity of production Association of ProAgria Centres

Panel of experts for foodstuff They estimate the processed products: • Qualities: taste, smell, color, structure • Nutritional and chemical quality • Is the product environmentally friendly, how it is packaged • Is all information on the label in accordance with the legislation • The instructions how to use the product • Story (recipe, local tradition, etc.) Association of ProAgria Centres

Panel of experts for rural tourism enterprises They estimate the products and the services: • The interaction with the customers: friendliness helpfulness, accessibility and listening to the customers • Cleanliness, technical quality • The accommodation facilities must be categorized according to the national classification of country holiday accommodation • Comfortable milieu also preserving the nature • Good taste, the degree of domestic origin, and the aesthetic character of the interior design such as furniture and tableware etc. • The degree of domestic origin of the meals, local food, attending to the seasons while planning the meals Association of ProAgria Centres

Panel of experts for handicraft They estimate the products: • Suitability to use, successful design, how skilled the product has been manufactured • Are the materials suitable, are domestic and natural materials used • Traditional model or product • Made by handicraft or small scale serial production • May the producer been seen on the product • The packing materials Association of ProAgria Centres
