Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? • Thou art more lovely and more temperate. • Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, • And summer's lease hath all too short a date. • Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, • And often is his gold complexion dimmed; • And every fair from fair sometime declines, • By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimmed; • But thy eternal summer shall not fade, • Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st, • Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade, • When in eternal lines to Time thou grow'st. • So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, • So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Tradurre poesia • Da Morini (in Zacchi-Morini 2002, p. 35): • Si tratta di individuare di volta in volta quali sono gli elementi più importanti di una poesia (ritmo, musicalità, contenuto (non-sense), forma - giochi di parole, allitterazioni) e questi andranno riprodotti con la massima precisione possibile, per il resto si cercherà di «salvare il salvabile». • Intraducibilità di una poesia falso problema…

Caputo e Velleca • Ci perdonino gli ammiratori del Principe (noi stessi siamo tra i piu' accaniti sostenitori della sua arte) per aver osato "tradurre" una poesia bellissima come "'A livella" dal dialetto napoletano cosi' come e' stata scritta da Antonio de Curtis in dialetti di altre regioni o addirittura in altre lingue diverse dall'italiano. Il nostro intento è semplicemente quello di far conoscere questa opera in versi a quanti non conoscano la lingua napoletana....o se volete e' semplicemente un gioco. Col permesso del Principe a cui va il nostro incondizionato amore....
