  3. Neurological disorders affect the brain,spinal cord,peripheral nerves and muscles and include: • Intermittent disorders such as epilepsy,migraine • Progressive long-term conditions such as PD,MS and dementia. • Life threatening acute conditions such as stroke and traumatic brain injury

Neurological conditions are common. • Neurology symptoms account for 1in 10 GP appointments. • 1 in 6 people has a neurological condition that makes a significant impact on their lives. • 2% of population of the UK are disabled by a neurological condition • Lifetime prevalence of MS is 2 per 1,000 of population and double that for epilepsy.
