  3. Stress When a person is confronted with an opportunity, constraint, or demand related to his/her goals and for which the outcome is perceived to be uncertain and important. Stressors are ADDITIVE! What is your worst stress right now?

Managing Stress During Exams • Beginning the exam: • Arrive early and get comfortable. • Relax (close eyes, deep breathing). • Read through all questions. • Allocate time limit to each question and don’t exceed by more than 2-3 minutes. • Begin with the question you’re most comfortable with -- but don’t “overwrite.”

Managing Stress During Exams • During the exam: • Be aware of your time schedule. • Stop and relax if you feel yourself starting to panic. • Begin again with what you know. • Ask for clarification if you don’t understand what the professor is asking. • If you finish early, check to make sure you’ve completed all parts of every question.
